As the first semester as an official organization on campus comes near end, we’d like to take a moment to reflect! Gladly ending the semester with ten members, we’re proud to say that half of them are graduate students. We were featured in Sonoma State University’s 2014 Newsletter, where we were able to informally introduce one of SSU’s newest clubs. We teamed up with the Electrical Engineering club by attending tours to local technology companies including Raydiance (laser company in Petaluma) as well as LEMO (connector company in Rohnert Park). We ended the semester with a talk given by the Dean at the School of Science and Technology, Lynn Stauffer, on her endeavors throughout her STEM career. Throughout the semester there was also a BBQ hosted by the EE club, as well as a field-trip with the EE club to a local high-school where a few of the members discussed the Electrical Engineering program at SSU among young students interested in STEM fields.
